Grobet USA Announce New U60 Resin 3D Printer for Jewelry

Grobet USA has a history going back nearly 150 years in the production of precision tools. They have manufacturing facilities in the USA and Switzerland and they know a thing or two about manufacturing!

So it’s exciting to see Grobet announce their own 3D printer aimed specifically at the Jewelry industry.

The Grobet Makex U60 is a DLP (digital light processing) resin 3D printer. This means it uses a high-definition light projector to cure each layer of liquid resin.

As it’s aimed at creating detailed prints the resolution specs are as impressive as you might expect, with layer thickness down to 5 microns (0.005mm) and an XY resolution of 58 microns (0.058mm).

The print volume is quite small at 2.9″ x 18″ x 5.1″ (75mm x 46mm x 130mm) but for jewelry work and other detailed pieces, this is adequate, and it does mean the machine itself is nicely compact (10.6″ x 9″ x 15″) so it is easy to find a suitable home for it.
