Review: Sainsmart Coreception 300 – Everything You Need To Know
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is a welcome new CoreXY-style 3D printer from the Chinese company who are well-known for their high-spec budget models.
CoreXY 3D Printers are popular amongst enthusiasts, as they can offer faster print speeds and are simpler, some would say, a more elegant design where the bed only moves in Z and all the motors remain stationary. This can allow a large print volume in a smaller overall frame size and more accurate prints as the weight of the motor isn’t being moved around.
The Coreception (I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be pronounced Core-ception, not co-reception!) offers an array of features in addition to its CoreXY design.
To keep bedroom users happy, it features a color-changing RGB LED lighting feature that allows you to remotely control 7 colors as 3 patterns of in-built LED lighting.
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is designed to offer you excellent value for money. It’s an ideal choice for creators or hobbyists who want a large volume printer.
In this post, I’ll be looking at some of its key features, its overall quality, and any things that may make it unsuitable for your application. In the end I hope you will be able to decide whether the Corecption 300 is the right 3D printer for you.

- The innovative design allows creators to print a wide variety of objects, making the unit the perfect choice for professionals and hobbyists.
- The Coreception 300 also has an auto-resume feature. The feature protects you from any interruptions in printing and ensures you can resume right where you were in case the printing is stopped abruptly by a power outage.
- The unit also features a customized TMC2208 silent module that makes the printer one of the quieter units in its category.
- The printer can support various types of filament thanks to its direct drive feeding design. The design also enhances print speed while maintaining high levels of accuracy and print quality.
- The Sainsmart Coreception 300 comes with an upgraded extrusion nozzle that offers excellent heat dissipation, smooth discharge, and fast heating. The hotbed will easily reach up to 100 Degrees in Maximum Temperature in a matter of minutes.

Cons

Unboxing and Box Content
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is shipped in a sleek and durable package that should be easy to open once the product arrives. The manufacturer also includes a few things in the box for you. First, you will get the printer. Secondly, there will be an assortment of tools, all of which will be needed to assemble the printer and set it up for first-time use.
Set-Up
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 comes partly assembled from the factory. The manufacturer says that it should take fifteen minutes to get the printer up and running. Most experienced users seem to have an easy time based on the reviews we saw on Amazon but there were several challenges pointed out.
First of all, the setup manual provided by the manufacturer is too technical. A beginner would have a hard time getting past it. There is also no information on the user guide on extruder assembly. We also did not see any guidance on using the filament detector.
While it’s possible to set up the printer in 15 minutes as suggested by the manufacturer, if you are new to 3D printing or perhaps you are not the handiest person out there, it may take relatively longer to get the unit up and running.
Software
As for the slicers, the printer can use an array of slicing software solutions. It ships with an outdated version of Cura, but you can easily download the latest version from the Cura website for free. CURA and Simplify3D are however some of the more commonly used slicers that are compatible with the Coreception. In terms of Firmware, the Coreception uses Marlin running on an MKS Robin Nano board.
In Use
In general, the experience of users using the Sainsmart Coreception 300 has been quite good. The printer is relatively fast when it comes to printing speeds compared to other printers in its category due to its CoreXY design. Additionally, the printer is also very quiet, making it an ideal choice for bedroom use or classrooms. As you’d expect from a CoreXY, the stability of the prints and lack of associated artifacts in your prints is excellent.
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is very stable and it’s no surprise based on its sturdy construction and innovative structure. Additionally, the print quality looks great. But one thing that sets this unit apart from other printers in its category is the relatively large build volume and height. This simply means that the Sainsmart Coreception 300 can print a wide range of objects, including larger and taller ones like cosplay helmets or gaming terrain.
Conclusion
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is a solid 3D printer that offers excellent value for money. It features an innovative construction, designed to enhance durability and print stability. The printer is quick and relatively quieter compared to other units in its category.
I also loved the large build volume which makes the Sainsmart Coreception 300 an ideal choice for people wishing to print larger objects. Additionally, the unit also features an auto-resume feature to guard against interruptions in printing and can support multiple filament materials as well.
The Sainsmart Coreception 300 is quite a large 3D printer. You will need a lot of floor or countertop space to place it. You don’t also get an auto-leveling feature for the bed, which can be an issue for some people but personally I wouldn’t let this put you off as auto-leveling is never as reliable as it sounds!
Overall, the Sainsmart Coreception 300 remains a solid 3D printing unit. It offers an array of features for a very affordable price and is especially worth it if you’ve been looking out for a budget CoreXY 3D printer. Overall it’s highly recommended!
